DRAFT — for legal review. Remove this line before publishing.

The New Normal is a video and audio interview series produced by OutRival, Inc. (“OutRival”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit thenewnormal.fm (the “Site”), sign up for our updates, or apply to appear as a guest.

By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you subscribe to our updates or submit the “Be a guest” form, we collect the information you enter — typically your name, email address, company, role, and anything you choose to write in a free-text field.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, the pages you view, and the time you spend on them.

Information from the platforms that host our media. Episodes are distributed through third-party platforms. When you play an episode or watch a video on the Site, those platforms may collect information about that playback under their own privacy policies. See Section 5.

We do not collect payment information through the Site, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
  • Send you episode announcements and other updates you have asked to receive
  • Review and respond to guest applications and other inquiries
  • Understand which episodes and topics our audience engages with
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information with:

  • Service providers who operate the Site and our email and CRM systems on our behalf, and who are permitted to use it only to provide those services
  • Analytics providers, to understand how the Site is used
  • Media platforms, where playback happens through their embedded players
  • Legal and safety recipients, where we believe disclosure is required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of OutRival, our audience, or the public
  • A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences, and measure how the Site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how parts of the Site function.

For more detail on the cookies OutRival uses, see the OutRival Cookie Policy.

5. Third-Party Platforms and Embeds

The Site embeds players and links from third parties, including podcast hosting, video, and streaming platforms. When you interact with these embeds, the relevant platform may set cookies and collect information about you under its own privacy policy. We do not control those practices, and this Privacy Policy does not cover them. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any platform you use to listen to or watch the show.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, for as long as you remain subscribed to our updates — and then delete or de-identify it, unless we are required to keep it longer to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.

7. Your Choices and Rights

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is intended for a professional, adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at privacy@outrival.com and we will delete it.

9. Security
